WELDING SPECIALIST

About Program

The Welding Specialist Program is a 43-week, full-time program designed to equip students with both the theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience needed for a successful career in welding and welding inspection. With a strong focus on practical training, this program prepares students for industry-recognized testing and a wide variety of job opportunities in manufacturing, construction, and industrial sectors.


Students receive 714 hours of lab-based, hands-on training and are eligible to complete up to 8 welding qualification tests through CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) and/or TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority). The curriculum includes foundational inspection-level theory and advanced practical modules in major welding processes such as GMAW, GTAW, MCAW, and SMAW. Graduates leave with the flexibility to pursue careers as welders, welding inspectors, or both.

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
