GAS FITTER LEVEL 3 (PART-TIME)

About Program

The Gas Fitter Level 3 (Part-Time) Certificate Program is designed for individuals who want to begin their career in the gas technician trade while maintaining a flexible schedule. This 15-week program follows the official TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) curriculum and prepares students to write the G3 licensing examination - a mandatory requirement to work as a Gas Fitter Level 3 in Ontario.


Students will develop essential knowledge in gas safety, appliance installation, and maintenance procedures through classroom instruction and practical workshops. All training is led by licensed Gas Fitters with years of industry experience. As an added benefit, students can write their G3 licensing exam at Stanford International College, a certified TSSA testing centre.

Career Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the TSSA G3 licensing exam, graduates may work under the supervision of a licensed Gas Fitter 2 in roles such as:

  • Gas Fitter Helper
  • Gas Fitter Apprentice
  • Gas Appliance Repairer / Services Assistant

Common duties include:

  • Installing, inspecting, and repairing gas lines and appliances
  • Performing maintenance on meters, regulators, and heating systems
  • Detecting gas leaks and ensuring safe operations
  • Assisting with layout planning and documentation

Admission Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • OR mature student status with successful completion of entrance examination
