CHILD & YOUTH CARE WITH ADDICTIONS SUPPORT WORKER

About Program

The Child & Youth Care with Addictions Support Worker Diploma Program is a 72-week full-time training program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to support children, adolescents, and families experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. This comprehensive program also includes training in addictions support, allowing graduates to work across a wide range of environments where both child development and addiction intervention skills are essential.


Students will learn how to assess needs, implement prevention and intervention strategies, and provide counseling and support services. Working alongside professionals in health care, education, social work, and justice, graduates will be prepared to help youth navigate complex circumstances and guide them toward positive change.

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • OR mature student status with successful completion of entrance examination
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Up-to-date immunization record (may be required for practicum)
  • Interview and/or reference check may be required
